Every great series starts with a question. For us at Six Bridges Brewing, it was this: what would it look like to brew the perfect Double IPA? That question became Perihelion—a brewing project that began with numbered releases (1 through 10) and has since evolved into one of our most ambitious and beloved series.
From the start, each Perihelion has been hazy, bold, and uncompromising, brewed with the finest hops and ingredients we can source. Over time, the series has become more than just a run of Double IPAs. It’s a journey that has earned us recognition across Georgia and introduced drinkers to some of our most celebrated beers.
What “Perihelion” Means
The name comes from astronomy. A perihelion is the point in a planet’s orbit when it’s closest to the sun—a rare moment of intensity, energy, and brilliance. That image captures the spirit of this series perfectly: hazy Double IPAs that burn bright, pack flavor, and bring the full force of hops into focus.
Like that fleeting cosmic alignment, every Perihelion release is a moment worth savoring—vivid, radiant, and gone all too soon.
From Numbers to Names
The first ten Perihelion releases were numbered—simple, straightforward, and focused squarely on perfecting the recipe. But once we’d reached 10, it felt right to evolve. Numbers gave way to names that could better capture the identity and character of each beer.
Biogenesis spoke to creation and new beginnings.
Horizon looked forward, expansive and bright
Quanta explored the smallest building blocks of hop expression.
Vanta leaned dark and mysterious, as deep as the void.
Each release carries its own story, but all share the same mission: inching closer to the perfect hazy Double IPA.
Behind the Brewing
The Perihelion Double IPA series is all about pushing boundaries. Our brewers experiment with premium hops sourced from around the world, layering vibrant fruit flavors, dank resin, and balanced bitterness. Expect juicy notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and melon, carried on a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel that defines the hazy style.
The goal is always refinement: exploring new hop combinations, dialing in the perfect balance, and chasing the edge of what a Georgia craft beer can be.
Can Art That Matches the Vision
The Perihelion cans have become as iconic as the beer itself. With their cosmic designs—vivid colors, striking geometry, and otherworldly imagery—they don’t just stand out in a cooler, they tell you what the beer is about before you even crack it open.
It’s art that mirrors the pursuit: bold, celestial, and unafraid to push into uncharted territory. Every can feels like a marker of where the series has been, and a hint of where it’s going next.

Where to Find a Perihelion Hazy Double IPA
Each release of Perihelion is limited, but you’ll always find the latest one on tap at our Johns Creek taproom and Crabapple taproom. Select cans and kegs also make their way into craft beer bars and package stores across Georgia, so keep an eye on your local shelves and coolers.
If you want to be the first to know when a new Perihelion is dropping, sign up for our email list or join our Bridge Builder membership for early access and exclusive pours.
Always Chasing the Sun
Perihelion is not just a beer; it’s an ongoing exploration. Each release is another orbit, another opportunity to draw closer to that burning question of what perfection might taste like in a Double IPA.
Whether your journey with us started at Perihelion 1 or you first picked up Quanta, Horizon, or Vanta, you’re part of the story. And as long as Perihelion continues, we’ll keep chasing the sun—one hazy, hop-saturated can at a time.
